SAN Engineer
Location: St. Louis, MO (GC, Citizen's and EAD only)
Duration: 1 year minimum
Job Overview: Support and maintain Storage subsystems and associated storage related software products. Actively participate in planning the direction and maintenance of Client Network Attached Storage (NAS) storage environment using EMC Celerra.
• Complete status reports; implementations; troubleshooting and maintain project plans as required. Provide technical advice to development programmers and internal customers regarding NAS requirements. Keep informed of the latest developments in storage management software and hardware technologies, as a basis for evaluations and recommendations in support of business requirements.
• Accurately document duties and procedures to aid the department in cross-training; and absentee coverage. Support business disaster recovery procedures for assigned areas of responsibility.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a combination of equivalent experience and formal training.
• Extended experience in SAN/NAS technology required. Solid UNIX system administration skills required. Strong understanding of telecommunications, networking, and Solaris mid-tier computer systems hardware and peripherals preferred.
• Previous experience with EMC Centera, Celerra, Clariion would be very beneficial.
Work Conditions:
• Ability to adhere to a standard work schedule as defined by department, plus on-call rotation and after hours support and implementation as needed.
